RSPCA York and District Branch cannot function without the dedicated help of our volunteers who support our branch in a variety of ways and we are eternally grateful for all the support we are given.
We are very sorry but we currently have no vacancies for casual dog walkers. We are, however, always in need of dog walkers with experience with large dogs and dogs that have been rescued. Please call 01904 654949 during our opening hours if you are experienced in walking difficult dogs and would like to help them. (Posted December 2016).
Due to the recent merger of the "York and District” and "Harrogate and District” branches, the new "York, Harrogate and District” is currently seeking new trustees to serve on its board, and help support delivery of its ambitious strategic plan.
We are looking for professionals from any walk of life who share the values of the RSPCA, and would like to get involved with the charity. We would especially like to hear from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
•Marketing (including digital marketing), communications, IT
•Income generation (including fundraising, sponsorship, bid-writing, retail).
We would also welcome enquiries from people with experience and skills in:
We seek a minimum commitment of 3-5 hours per month, but if you can spare more time than this, there are also opportunities to work on our sub-committees, volunteer at York Animal Home or at one of our retail outlets, or within our outreach or fundraising programmes. Ideally, we are looking for individuals who expect to be able to serve on our board for a minimum of two years.
If you would like to be considered, or require further information, please contact email@example.com.
Not interested? If this opportunity is not for you, but you know someone who might want to be a part of our team, please pass our details on.
Store and Street Collectors
This activity is a vital source of funds in support of the work at the York Animal Home. It only requires your time if you are available on the collections days, normally about two hours a shift. No experience necessary but you will need to be signed up as a RSPCA York volunteer

Branch Handy Persons
These roles are vital to support the work at the York Animal Home and our shops. We are already lucky enough to have a volunteer electrician but we are still looking for other volunteer trades or people who have an aptitude for minor building maintenance and repair. It only requires the time you can spare but there are small jobs to do every day of the week. You will need to be signed up as a RSPCA York volunteer before starting.
