For general enquiries about volunteering opportunities please email cath@rspca-yorkhome.org.uk

Volunteers are the backbone of this charity.

RSPCA York and District Branch cannot function without the dedicated help of our volunteers who support our branch in a variety of ways and we are eternally grateful for all the support we are given.

If you are interested in volunteering, you’ll find our current volunteer vacancies below, along with details of how to join our prospective volunteer register.

Dog Walking Volunteers:-

We are very sorry but we currently have no vacancies for casual dog walkers. We are, however, always in need of dog walkers with experience with large dogs and dogs that have been rescued. Please call 01904 654949 during our opening hours if you are experienced in walking difficult dogs and would like to help them. (Posted December 2016).

CURRENT VOLUNTEER ROLES AVAILABLE

TRUSTEE RECRUITMENT- MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Due to the recent merger of the "York and District” and "Harrogate and District” branches, the new "York, Harrogate and District” is currently seeking new trustees to serve on its board, and help support delivery of its ambitious strategic plan.

We are looking for professionals from any walk of life who share the values of the RSPCA, and would like to get involved with the charity. We would especially like to hear from individuals with experience in marketing (including digital marketing), communications and IT.

We seek a minimum commitment of 3-5 hours per month, but if you can spare more time than this, there are also opportunities to work on our sub-committees, volunteer at York Animal Home or at one of our retail outlets, or within our outreach or fundraising programmes. Ideally, we are looking for individuals who expect to be able to serve on our board for a minimum of two years.

If you would like to be considered, or require further information, please contact angela@rspca-yorkhome.org.uk.
